STANFORD WARRIORS KOBUDO

  3 COURSES A YEAR

   Corringham Village Hall

KoBudo simply means ‘Weapons Training’.

These special classes allow students to learn the variety of different weapons used within the Ju-Jitsu syllabus. These are taught as individual Katas, although there are some that are required to be performed in pairs.

There are five primary weapons :

Nunchucka
Tonfa
Sai
Bo Staff
Bokken / Katana

These must be passed in order to attain a Level 5 qualification.

Further weapons include :

Kama
Naginata
Baton / Escrima (also known as the 'Short Stick')

Here at Stanford Warriors, adults can attend any of the Kobudo classes – however – they are not allowed to be assessed for their qualification until they are a Blue Belt [or above].
A student must attend a minimum number of Kobudo classes in order to be assessed.

Brown Belts must attain a Kobudo Level 5 qualification before being considered for a Black Belt (1st Dan) grading!

The Kobudo courses are run three times a year (by Sensei Steve), and are held at the Corringham Hall.

CHILDREN'S WEAPONS CLASS

We also have a weapons class, specially designed for our younger/junior students, which takes place every Sunday morning at our Corringham club. Here, the children can learn the basic skills required, in readiness for their eventual progression to Black Belt (and Kobudo requirement) - whilst having fun doing so!

To be eligible to attend the weapons class, students MUST attend a regular Ju-jitsu syllabus class!

(Weapons coaching is restricted to ages 6+ only)
