The junior classes are available for all children from the age of four years old. The WARRIORS (children) train in classes that are divided into age groups and within each class the children train with other children of the same grade in order to develop the required techniques for their next belt. Many of the senior student members assist at the Junior classes and not one person young or old leaves the class without a smile. Sensei Mallons approach means that the classes remain varied meaning that the children do not get bored doing the same thing every week and of course, every class ends with a game to get the last of the energy out before going home.
Once a Junior student reaches six years old they can progress to weapon training. This takes place on a Sunday and allows the students to see a completely different aspect of this ansient martial art. Further information on weapons training can be found by following the link below.

Also when a student reaches five years old they are able to begin competing in competitions. These range from our club competition held each May up to the Jikishin National Championship held each autumn where students can test their skills against other competitors from all over the UK. Please see the competition page for this years impressive results
But what really matters is that each and every child that attends a class goes away smiling having learnt new skills, respect for others and gained the all important self confidence and gumption that stays with us all for life. Ju Jitsu is not only intended to teach a child to defend themselves it can also give a child the self confidence and spirit to acheive other goals ,be it in education, other sports or life in general.

Adults train on Friday evenings 8:00 9;00 at St. Joseph's and Sunday mornings 12:00 1:00 at Corringham Village Hall and skills are as varied as the sessions. Techniques practiced range from random attacks to formal kata with a good measure of sparring and ground fighting thrown in to keep it interesting. Many of the students training in adult classes have children training in the Little Warrior side of the club and quite a few have wives or partners attending the Self Defence classes. Everyone is welcome on a Friday or Sunday and no one is made to feel stupid because of their lack of experience or inability .
