Sensei Brian Mallon has been practising the fine art of Ju Jitsu for more than 30 years and in that time has reached the level of 6h Dan Black Belt. He also holds a senior coaching certificate and is recognized by the British Ju Jitsu Association and the Sports Council.
When Sensei Brian Herbert (who is now the head of Jikishin Ju Jitsu U.K) opened his first class, Brian Mallon was his first student and his first Black Belt. He has continuously trained along side him ever since.
Sensei Mallon has also helped many other students reach the level of Black Belt and higher, including his eledest daughter, Kerry-Lee, who acheived 3rd Dan Black Belt status and was also one of the youngest women to attain such a grade in the U.K.
In 2001 Sensei Mallon took over the St. Josephs club, at the time it had a total of six pupils and was under threat of closure. With dedication and hard work the club has gone from strength to strength and is still growing., with the naming of the younger students as "Little Warriors and the older students as " Stanford Warriors".
More classes opened for both the Little Warriors and Stanford Warriors and 2005 saw the beginning of the Ladies Fitness and Self-defence class.
2006 bought the start of the Sparring and Weapons class (which continues to prove very popular) and two Adult Ju-jitsu class.
With the support and encouragement of his wife Gillian, he has created and excellent enviroment for pupils, young and old to enjoy and develop their martial arts skills to the highest levels.
Sensei Mallon teaches with an infectious and spirit lifting enthusiasm that captures both the imagination and respect of his pupils and this is reflected in his philosophy of training with a "BIG SMILE" at all times. This innovative approach keeps pupils motivated, interested and ensures that enjoying the Art of Ju Jitsu is high on the agenda at all times.By Clicking HERE you can see some more pictures of Sensei Mallon in action.
